Ranch Kuulas: Life with Finnhorses in the Arctic
Ranch Kuulas is a small horse ranch above the Arctic Circle near Rovaniemi. We designed and built their bilingual WordPress site in about three weeks, with seasonal riding holidays, a live Arctic conditions panel and room to grow.

Overview
Ranch Kuulas is a small working horse ranch just outside Rovaniemi, above the Arctic Circle. The family behind it lives and works on the land year round with their Finnhorses, Finland's native breed, and they invited us in when they were ready to share that life with guests. The ranch runs guided riding holidays by season, horseback archery training camps with championship rider Anni Jauhiainen, a wood fired Lappish restaurant called Loimu, and farmhouse and glamping stays opening for summer 2026.
The brief was to give the ranch a warm, credible home online that works for two very different audiences at once. International travelers planning a Lapland holiday need help choosing between a three day riding retreat, a seven day trail and archery week or a quiet New Year in the Arctic. Local and regional guests just want to book an afternoon ride or a table at the restaurant. The whole site is bilingual, English and Finnish, built in WordPress with Bricks.
The structure follows how a real season at the ranch flows. Holiday packages are grouped by summer, autumn, winter and training camps. Activities are sorted the same way, from midnight sun rides over the hills to traditional Finnhorse sleigh rides in the snow. Guides explain the eight seasons of Lapland, what to expect from trail conditions, and how to sleep like the old farmhands did. The blog, calendar and FAQ carry the practical side of visitor questions.
One detail we built for them became a signature of the site. A live panel in the footer shows the ranch's exact coordinates at 66.8 degrees north, the local time, the current temperature and the length of the day. It is a small thing that says a lot: the quiet northern rhythm the ranch promises, measurable on the page while you plan the trip.
The site went live about three weeks after kickoff. Since then the ranch has welcomed guests from all over the world through it, including winter riding groups whose reviews now sit on the homepage.
